Keep Food Legal, the first and only nationwide membership organization devoted to culinary freedom, is a tax-exempt organization under IRS § 501(c)(4), and is incorporated as a nonprofit under Washington, DC law. Donations to § 501(c)(4) groups, including Keep Food Legal, are not tax deductible under IRS § 170(c)(2).
While your donation to Keep Food Legal is not tax-deductible, we like to think of your donation as tax-reductible. How's that? Well, because Keep Food Legal advocates against intrusive government regulations and subsidies pertaining to food, donating to Keep Food Legal could ultimately help to reduce government spending and taxes. Hence, a tax reductible donation.
